ABOUT CATHY

CathyCathy Soraghan has worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years. Her expertise is widely acknowledged, with clients ranging from international stars to household names in Ireland to brides and grooms seeking assistance in looking good for their big day in addition to an array of clients.

She has a proven record for getting people motivated, as seen on RTE's Afternoon Show, when she took charge of detoxing the presenters over a two day period, all of whom declared how terrific they felt afterwards. Radio listeners to the Ray D'Arcy Show and regular listeners to East Coast FM have also heard Cathy mentor, motivate and advise.

When it comes to advice about an exercise programme, she is considered one of the best. Her knowledge of the Glycaemic Index (GI) system had been heralded long before it gained widespread popularity.

Cathy's philosophy as a health and fitness consultant is to use a holistic approach incorporating fitness, nutrition and motivation techniques, utilising her many skills in the health and fitness arena as well as her training as a Life Coach. Cathy's regime includes the Medicine ball abdominal workout, Pilates, Fitball and Weight Training, diet analysis and planning.

Rehabilitation has been one of many spheres of excellence for Cathy, working closely alongside physios and osteopaths throughout the country. She launched her own fitness consultancy company in 1996, devising the successful Bodyworks weight loss programme which she operated at West Wood Fitness Centre, Leopardstown, Dublin. She has fine tuned this programme evolving it into one of the finest training systems available and most importantly it always gets results

Cathy has provided her expertise on health, fitness, nutrition, and stress management to a diverse range of clients over the years including Bank of Ireland, the National Maternity Hospital Holles Street, the VEC, Newtown Park School Adult Education Centre, Mountjoy Prison and Lucent Technology among others.

Clients who have sought her assistance have been stunned by the swiftness with which they gained positive results. Weight Loss is also an important area and her clients span the age spectrum from teenagers to adults young, old and in-between.

Using her skills as a trained LIFE COACH and stress management expert she motivates people in getting started and more importantly continuing and maintaining their programmes successfully.

Cathy is a skilled practitioner and coach in Pilates and Power Plating and has immense understanding of health and safety issues particularly in terms of back care and in helping clients turn a corner in terms of major back and mobility problems and as a consequence regaining welcome improvement in their quality of life.

In addition Cathy provides a array of programmes tailored to the needs of private clients either in their homes or at her studios in Dun Laoghaire.

Cathy is continually evolving as a trainer by keeping her skills up to date with current developments in the industry as well as enhancing her skills base with additional qualifications. These include an ITEC diploma in Stress Management and Massage, NCEF Pilates and Fitball, as well as a diploma in Life and Business Coaching.
